As a doctoral student specializing in educational linguistics, Wenjuan is interested in examining children’s language developmental trajectory in both home and school contexts. In the READS project, Wenjuan is working with colleagues to develop a coding scheme to capture the quality of children’s oral retelling of both narrative and informational texts, so as to examine how students’ ways of talking about what they read correlates with their performance on measures of reading comprehension.
